Get familiar with the car controls:
Steering wheel – turns the car.
Pedals – usually two (automatic): right pedal gas, left pedal brake. In manual cars, there are three: clutch, brake, gas.
Gear shift – controls whether the car is in park, drive, reverse, neutral (automatic) or different gears (manual).
Mirrors – rear-view and side mirrors for visibility.
Indicators – for turning left or right.
2. Starting the car:
Make sure the gear is in Park (P) for automatic, or Neutral for manual.
Press the brake (and clutch if manual).
Turn the key or press the start button.
3. Moving the car (automatic):
Keep your foot on the brake.
Shift from Park (P) to Drive (D).
Slowly release the brake and gently press the gas pedal.
4. Steering & controlling speed:
Keep both hands on the wheel (usually at “9 and 3” position).
Control speed with the gas and brake.
Always check mirrors and surroundings.
5. Parking:
Press the brake.
Shift into Park (P).
Turn off the engine.
6. Safety tips:
Always wear your seatbelt.
Adjust seat and mirrors before driving.
Practice in an empty parking lot first.
